Booking FAQs

  • There is no set level of fitness to take part in our running tours. All paces and abilities are welcome and each tour can be tailored accordingly to meet the needs of the participants. Please be assured - no runner will be left behind! The emphasis of our tours is on having fun, not running fast!

  • The start (and finish) point of the tour will be agreed, in advance, between both parties. Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your tour start time, preferably already warmed up and ready to stride out!

  • The further in advance you book your tour the better. We tend to ask for at least 24 hours’ notice but tours may be booked on the same day depending on tour guide availability.

  • There are no designated toilet breaks on the tours, but if you do need to stop during the tour, please let your tour leader know and we will endeavor to find somewhere suitable to stop.

  • The minimum age for taking part in our tours is 10, and any child under the age of 16 years must be accompanied by an adult.

  • Dogs (other than guide dogs) are generally not allowed on our tours. However, this can be permitted in special circumstances. If you wish to participate in one of our tours with your dog (guide dog or other), please contact us via the enquiry form and we can discuss your requirements further.

  • Whatever you generally tend to wear / take with you when out running! We recommend that you dress appropriately for the weather i.e. layers, windproof/waterproof jackets, hat, gloves etc. Please ensure you wear suitable footwear. You may also want to bring a bottle of water with you, if you feel you might need it.

Please note that your tour leader will not be able to carry any items for you, and there is no storage area to leave belongings at the meeting point, therefore please only bring what you are willing to carry!

  • If you are running late for whatever reason, please contact your tour leader as soon as possible either by email info@strideoutrunningtours.com or call on +447799 584868 to provide an update.

  • Part of Scotland’s charm is its rather unpredictable weather! As such, our tours take place in all weather conditions. However, we do reserve the right to postpone or cancel any tour in extreme weather conditions if it would be deemed unsafe to go ahead based on the prevailing conditions or weather forecast (i.e., heavy rain, lightning, high winds, icy conditions etc). Should that be the case, we will offer a rescheduled date and/or a full refund.

Should you wish to cancel due to weather conditions, but we deem it safe for the tour to go ahead, no refund will be given.

  • We will offer a full refund (minus £5 admin fee) if cancellation is made 24 hours in advance of the tour start time. We cannot offer a refund if the reservation is cancelled within the 24 hour period prior to the tour start time. We reserve the right to cancel, amend the timings or route of the tour, without notice, in circumstances beyond our control.

No refunds will be made for no-shows or partial participation on our tours.
