Scotland Distilled - exploring Edinburgh

I’m so proud to be Scottish. And I’m privileged to call Edinburgh home.

So needless to say, I jumped at the chance to showcase my stomping ground with none other than endurance cyclist, Guinness World Record holder and my old school pal, Mark Beaumont, as part of a new travel series recently launched on Youtube and across social media.

In partnership with Enjoy Travel, “Scotland Distilled” celebrates Scotland’s culture, cuisine, creativity and of course its great outdoors. An opportunity for local groups and businesses to share their stories with the world.

This episode puts the spotlight solely on Edinburgh as we ventured from the highest to lowest points in the city on the most epic urban running adventure.

Given it was filmed in mid-December, even the weather got the memo.

Now we’re not suggesting everyone heads out for a 30km city run(!), but the sentiment remains - exploring a city by foot is hard to beat.

Huge thanks to Mark for giving me the opportunity to team up with him on this project. And credit to the man behind the camera - Matrkus Stitz - for the media multi-tasking.

The full episode can be viewed here. So grab a cuppa and enjoy exploring Edinburgh through a different lens.
